Xi'an City Wall launched its 2026 summer-themed series of cultural activities on July 1.

The event will run until Aug 31, bringing together a diverse range of experiences and cultural heritage-themed activities to present visitors with a cultural feast.

To further the immersive experience, the scenic area has launched an interactive feiqian (an ancient type of paper money) game inspired by the history of remittance during the Tang Dynasty (618–907). Visitors can receive their feiqian upon purchasing a ticket to the scenic area and earn more by completing challenges across the scenic area. It can then be redeemed in the form of discounts at market stalls.

Three immersive live performances featuring Tang Dynasty aesthetics will be staged regularly at separate time slots from early morning till late at night at Yongning Gate, creating an all-day cultural viewing experience.

The scenic area has worked with various cultural museums and intangible cultural heritage institutions across Xi'an to host regular activities, including artistic performances and public welfare cultural lectures, transforming the Xi'an City Wall into a public cultural exhibition venue.

The summer-themed events at Xi'an City Wall integrate accessibility, cultural heritage, and immersive experiences, adding new vitality in the city's nighttime cultural and tourism consumption.
